Burst Blood Vessel in Leg: Causes, Symptoms & Risks

I was playing extreme dodge ball with the kids at school.   We were having a field day.  I felt a pop in my leg and thought oh my joints are popping.  I went to take the next step and bam the pain hit.  I had to hobble off the court.  I went to the doctor and he said that I had a burst blood vessel in my leg.  It is in the left calf.  What causes this?  And how dangerous is it to form blood clots?  Thank you.

well this happens alot with people in sports and on feet and legs alot. myself as well.
mine was in my upper thigh,it turned black,from my knee to butt.

my doctor only said it was from being on my feet for a long period of time. wear and tear of my body.

all i can tell you is to rest your calf,up on some pillows for awhile each day,and see if this helps.

i wish i could do more.
