Persistent Vaginal Burning and Swelling: Seeking Relief & Understanding Test Results

Question
I have constant buring and swelling in my vagina for 2 months. I have seen an OBGYN they had me on metro-gel,doxyclycine and cleocin tablets. They said it was bacterial. They sent my urine out to a lab it came back negative for growth. My gential swab came back excess growth of gential flora and scant growth of strep c. Any suggestions I am so uncomfortable.

Answer
If the culture came back and the sensitivities of the culture indicated that the bacteria was sensitive to metronidazol (Metrogel), tetracycline (doxyclycine), and clindomycin (Cleocin), the infection should have resolved. If it has been longer than 2 weeks since you took the antibiotics, and you are still quite uncomfortable, you may need to have another culture and sensitivity and be retreated.
