Question -
I have taken 5 at home pregnancy tests so far and every single one of them has had a positive result. The pregnant line on all of them is fainter that the other line. My question is, the first 3 tests I took, the lines seemed darker. Then since I don't have health insurance I went to a clinic yesterday to verify that I was pregnant and the test came out negative. So I took another at home test last night, very faint but positive. This morning, faint, but positive. It seems like since the first test, the lines seem to get a little fainter every time I take a test. (And almost every time, I did use first morning urine)Is this something that I should be worried about? I don't know what to do because I do not have insurance.
Answer -
According to the manufacturers, as pregnancy test that shows any faint lines must be considered a negative test. When was the first day of your last period? The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your period. If you have a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14, YOu can only become pregnant if you have sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. If you do become pregnant on one of tnose days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take the test is 21 days after ovlation (or seven days after missing a period).

Answer
If your last period started on September 20, and you have a regular cycle, then you would have ovulated on October 3. You could only have conceived if you had sex on October 2,3,4, or 5. If you did become pregnant on one of those days, a pregnancy test would not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test would, therefore, be October 24.  If the test is not positive (dark, bold lines) then you are not pregnant.
