Can you carry to term with a septate uterus? Can you carry to term with a subseptate uterus? I am not sure which one I have but just found out I was pregnant. I had a previous miscarriage. What are my chances? Is there anything I can do? I am out of the US for a couple months and need some help here. Please respond.

Usually, in a septate uterus, if you become pregnant and the embryo implants on one side (or the other) of the septum in the uterus, as the baby grows it pushes the septum against the wall of the uterus and the patient can carry to term. There is, of course, a higher risk of miscarriage if there is not enough room for the growth of the fetus.
What about a sub-septate and can you give me percentages for full term carry on both?
AnswerA septate uterus can be seen with a full septum or a partial septum. That is what is meant by a sub-septate uterus. I do not believe there are statistics for the number of women who carry to term and have uterine septa beacuse it is not usually reported. A hysterosalpingogram will show the extent of the septum but there is no way to predict whether or not the pregnancy will be successful. Good Luck.
