Intercourse During Your Period & Trying to Conceive: What You Need to Know

Question
Hello. It's probably nothing to do with it but I am wondering if there are days that you shouldn't have intercourse while TTC (in cycle).  I seem to get AF on the day of or 1 day after we have intercourse.(in the 28 day cycle) Would it be possibly making the hormone changes or disturbing the delicate internal wall... or is it purely coincidence?  This happened about 3-4 times so I was wondering...
Thanks you for the help in advance once again,

Papillon

Answer
If you are trying to conceive, the best time to have intercourse is around the time of ovulation. If you have a 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. You can only conceive on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16 unless your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days. We suggest that you refrain from sex prior to cycle day #13 so as to allow your husband's sperm to replenish. After cycle day #13, concentrate on having intercourse every other day until you get your next period. There is no reason to abstain after the date of ovulation.
