QuestionHello Doctor,
Our infertility treatment plan was Injectables and IUI this month. I took Gonal F Pen 75U for 5 days. My ovaries produced too many follicles and I had high hormone levels (700, 1200, 1700). My doctor cancelled IUI this cycle. Just after ovulation occured
(a day or two)I started bleeding. More than spotting, less than my period. Is it a side effect? Is it my period? Should I be concerned? My doctor told me to call in once my period starts for another treatment cycle.

AnswerHello Georga from the U.S.,
The bleeding was more than likely your period due to the estrogen drop. I would not be concerned. However, you would not be able to start another stimulation cycle right away. Your ovaries need to have a cycle off between induction cycles with gonadotropins. If you really did ovulate, I hope you abstained from having intercourse because with the large number of follicles you would run the risk of being the next octomom.
