Cycle Length & Ovulation: Tracking Your Cycle for Pregnancy

Question
I'm 32, with one child.  We are actively working on baby #2, but I feel like an idiot trying to determine the length of my cycles.  My cycles have gone as follows: 10/10/05, 11/08/05, 12/07/05. Is that a 29 day cycle or 30 days? Also, do I have a normal luteal phase of 14 days?

Also, all charts said I would be ovulating around 12/21-12/24.  We had intercourse on 12/19,12/20,12/21, and 12/24/.  As of today 1/6, I still have not started my period.  According to my calendar I should have started yesterday.  I haven't taken a HPT yet, should I?

Thanks so much,
Elizabeth

Answer
From October 10 until November 8 was 30 days. From November 8 until December 7 was 30 days. So far, it appears that you have a 30 day cycle and therefore, probably ovulate on cycle day #16 each month. If your lasat period started on December 7, you probably ovulated on December 22 and could have conceived if you had sex on December 21,22,23, or 24. You were due for your next period on January 5. If you do not get your period by January 12, take a pregnancy test and you will know for sure. Keep concentrating on having intercourse from cycle day #15-19 each month. Good Luck. Count your cycle from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period.
