QuestionHi I am 30 years old and have no children as yet. Me and my husband have been trying for a few months now and I am 3 days late. I started my last period on 18 September and it lasted for about 6 days.
I was on the pill until 4 months ago and have only been regular again for the last 2 months.
I did a pregnancy test today and it came back negative - is that a definite result? I know we had sex on around the right day for ovulation.
I know you have probably had this question thousands of times but I really do want a baby!
AnswerIf you now have a normal 28 day cycle (From the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. You can ONLY become pregnant if you have unprotected sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. If your last period started on Septembere 18, you may have conceived if you had sex on September 30, October 1, 2, or 3. If you did become pregnant on one of those days a pregnancy test will not show a positive reseult until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your next period. You were due for your period on October 15. If you do not get your period by October 22, take a pregnancy test at that time. It may have been too early to have taken a pregnancy test when you did.
