QuestionI am almost 32 weeks pregnant and my Dr. has done my third trimester labs. When he got the results he asked me to come in to talk to him. He told me that my white cell count was 23,000. I felt fine, no cold, no flu, nothing. He decided to run the test again, it was 24,000. Still I felt fine. A week later he ran the same test again and it was 23,000. He told me that there was nothing to worry about, but of course I am worried.
The last time I spoke to him, I asked him what my white blood cell count was when he took blood at the begining of my pregnancy, and it was 22,000. He said that some women just get elavated white blood cell counts when they are pregnant, but still I am worried. Is this normal? Should I be worried for my baby, or myself?
Thanks,
Kandice
Answer"An unusually high white blood cell count can indicate an infection or a blood disorder" - Diagnose-me.com
I would honestly get a second opinion doctor or ask your doctor to check you for other illnesses you wouldn't normally know about such as walking pneumonia, etc. While your wbc count is normally higher during pregnancy It would still be a good idea. Good Luck
