Early Teething Signs: Is Your Baby Drooling and Oral at 2 Months?

Question
My daughter is a little over two months old and is very oral.  Her hands are always in her mouth and she drools a lot.  Could she be teething already?

Answer
"The age at which a child begins to get teeth can vary. The average age is about 7 months, but some infants' teeth erupt when they are only 3 or 4 months old. Other babies do not begin to get teeth until they are 12 months or even a little older. Getting teeth at any of these ages is normal." - health.discovery.com

Also, alot of infants notice their hands about this time and just see it as something to chew on.  It is like thunb sucking.  It has nothing to do with teeting.  The excess saliva is just generated through chewing on her hand and since babies can't control it...it goes out instead of in.  If you want to you can try giving her a frozen teething ring. Teethers often are sold ready for freezing.  Good Luck!
