Gestational Hypertension Risk in Subsequent Pregnancies: A Medical Q&A
QuestionThe first day of my last period was 12/27/05. I am 25 weeks pregnant and have 1 child who is 2 1/2 years old. When I was pregnant with my first child, I developed gestational hypertension but cannot recall when. The doctor took me off at 33 weeks but I know I developed it prior to that time. Am I likely to develope this with this pregnancy? If so, do you know when this usually occurs? I'm concerned because I had my son 10 days earlier and he was only 5 pounds 9 ounces because of my blood pressure. I also had major swelling but no protein in my urine. Thanks for your time.
