Ortho Tri-Cyclen vs. Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo: Understanding the Differences

Hi,

I am 21 years old, and am mainly trying to get a clearer picture of the difference between Ortho Tri Cyclen and Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, especially in terms of effectiveness in preventing pregnancy and improving acne.  I have heard a lot concerning Ortho Tri Cyclen as a good measure against mild-moderate acne, but nothing about the Lo version, and was wondering if it also helps.  I am also under the impression that the difference between the two in effectiveness against pregnancy is miniscule, and would like to make sure that is correct.  Thank you,

There is a miniscule difference between OrthoTriCyclen and OrthoTriCyclen-Lo. The only reason they developed the "Lo" was because there is a generic form of OrthoTriCyclen and the newer pill would possibly continue to make money for the manufacturer. There really is no difference in the two pills. They have the same efficacy in preventing pregnancy as well as preventing acne. You can use either one.
