Low White Blood Cell Count with Cytoxan: What to Expect

my white count has dropped to 2.7 from 3.2 3 days ago. i am currently taking cytoxan for ra. how dangerous is this low white count

Hi Dee.  The drop of 0.5 of your white count is probably due to just being drawn a different day.  I don't think this difference is clinically significant, but being on Cytoxan needs to be monitored, since it can cause a low WBC.  I'm sure your doctor will monitor your WBC count closely.  Any significant decrease in WBC should be investigated by your doctor.
