Delayed Period After Abortion & Morning-After Pill: What to Expect

Question
I went through an abortion about a month ago and last saturday I had unprotected sex (but he didn't ejaculate inside). I took the morning after pill on Monday, which is essentially 6 pills taken in a space of 12 hours.

After the abortion last month, the nurse told me to expect my period in 4 weeks, which is about now. I'm wondering if the morning after pill would have any effect on when my period comes, or should I worry that it's not here?

Answer
If you do not get your period by a month after the abortion, and you had unprotected sex (even if he didn't ejaculate inside), I would suggest that you take a pregnancy test seven days after you missed your period. Remember, there are around 300,000 sperm at the tip of the penis prior to ejaculation and if he tries to withdraw prior to ejaculating, these sperm can be "milked" into the vagina and you can become pregnant if you had ovulated.  If a pregnancy test is negative, you are not pregnant.
