Post-D&C Period Changes & Fertility Concerns: A Doctor's Answer

I HAD A MISCARRIAGE & D&C IN DECEMBER 2009 I WAS 12 WEEKS. I AM WORRIED BECAUSE I HAVE NOT HAD A PERIOD SINCE, GOING ON 6 MONTHS? I AM 38 AND HAVE MULTIPLE FIBROIDS BUT I REALLY WANT TO HAVE A BABY. SO I WANT TO BE ABLE TO TREAT THE FIBROIDS BEFORE I GET PREGNANT AGAIN, IM WONDER IF ILL EVEN BE ABLE TO SINCE MY PERIODS STOPPED, COULD THE D&C HAVE DAMAGED MY INSIDES OR POSSIBILITY TO CONCEIVE? I AM DEVESTATED......

Although you have not mentioned ur age, i assume you are below 40. It is hard to say that a D&C destroyed the interior of your uterus although there is a possibility of adhesions formation inside the uterus which can be removed by a hysteroscopic surgery.

However as a first step to ensure that you have a healthy genital tract, a trial with a hormonal therapy can be done to see if you will have an artificial period or not (withdrawal bleeding).
