QuestionHI, i am getting a little anxious, because its been 9 weeks since i had a medical abortion. i was 20 weeks pregnant when i had the procedure, basically i was given an injection to induce labour. and since the d&c the day after the abortion, i haven't had my period or any sign of it coming and i am getting a bit worried, because all the research says that menstruation should resume within the first 6-8 weeks.........

AnswerThis is normal. I would not worry It can take up to 12 weeks. You should have had a follow up appointment. If you did not, one simple test is to just perform a urine pregnancy test. If it is negative, there is no need to worry. If it is positive, you could have a clot that formed after the procedure and this may be preventing your period from coming.
