Missed Period While on Birth Control: What To Do?

Question
I am on the birth control pill. last month I got my period the 26 and ended the 31 this month I did not get my period and i already started a new pack if I do not get my period by the 7 do u think I should take a pregnancy test or go to the doctor will it show up in a pregnancy test if I am pregnant or will the birth control pills give it a false reading...should i stop taking my birth control pills? please e-mail me back asap thanks

Answer
If you are more than seven days late for your period, take a pregnancy test. Being on birth control pills will not cause you to have an inaccurate pregnancy test. Continue taking the pills. You can safely continue birth control pills even if you are pregnant as long as you stop taking the pills prior to the start of the second trimester of pregnancy. If you started your period on February 26, then you are not due for your next period until March 25.
