Using Birth Control Pills to Regulate Your Period: What to Do

Question
I'm on the pill Mirelle, but im using it to regulate my period. This is my first time. I've had my period for about 16 days straight. I was wondering am I suppose to take the 28 pills in the packet or take just 21 and let my period start on the 22-28 days?

Answer
Jonelle,

If there are 28 pills, then probably the last few pills are placebo pills but still need to be taken. But I would advise you to ask your doctor or read the instructions on the pill pack. I'm not a medical professional.

In general, I don't advise to take the birth control pills or any kind of hormonal birth control methods. Please try to find another method. I don't believe the hormones are healthy for a woman's body. Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so we can talk more. Having your period for 16 days straight could be very dangerous. Check with your doctor.
