Switching Birth Control Pills: Do I Need Backup?

Hi,
Do I need to use back up contraception if I am switching from one pill to another?  I started the new one the Sunday after my period, just like usual.  Thanks.

it depends whether how long ago you stopped your previous pill, since your "period" might have been the usual "bleeding" from the pill and not a real period, and so you never know if the time you went off the pill allowed for ovulation to occur. so i would advise you used a form of back up contraception until you finish this cycle of pills, just to be on the safe side! :)
