I am 9 dpo (typical luteal is 12 dpo)and my temps are higher than they normally are. I've been charting for about 6 months and before this month, my highest temp was 97.8. My temps this luteal phase have gone up to 97.9 and today to 98.1. I feel a little feverish..but not sick at all (no cold, flu, etc.)just hot. I have no other symptoms, except dull back ache, could just be pms. So my question is, do higher than normal temps mean anything or is it just the length of high temps?
AnswerIf you have a "biphasic" basal body temperature chart, where the temperature rose and stayed elevated after ovulation, that, sometimes, can indicate a pregnancy (if the temperature does not drop at all after 14 days). If you have any doubts, or if you miss your next period, wait an additional week and take a pregnancy test and you will know for sure. You have to look at the trend of temperature and not individual rises or falls, which can occur from day to day.
