Newborn Care: Room Temperature, Feeding & Post-Cesarean Recovery

Question
hi
i mailed before too about my pregnancy and was glad to receive your reply... thankyou! my question today is that what should be the room temperature for a new born baby because where i live it gets about 38-40 degrees and we certainly need A.C. also the level of humidity to be maintained since we need humidifiers.
moreover, would only mothers milk be enough for him?also, incase i have a cesarian section what are the precautions i must take inorderto get well soon.
thankyou

Answer
HI Beenish,
one thing to remember if you are too hot, then the baby will be too and if you are too cool or cold as will the baby. As far as humidity, if you think the air is too dry for you, then get humidifier or vaporiser and run it all day and night. Mothers milk should be suffiecient if you are producing a good amount and it would not be bad to supplement with a bottle if he continues to cry and act like his hungry. After a section, just keep the area clean and eat good foods to make you healthy again. Keep all the doctors appointments for follow up for you and the baby to insure good health.
