Not sure if this is within your area of expertise, but here goes:
Nine days ago, I had a vaginal hysterectomy, with my ovaries left intact. I was given general anesthesia, and all went well, as far as I know. This was my first surgery ever (I'm 45). I went home on Percoset for pain, 10 mg every five hours or so, and I've taken it consistenty until last night. Three days after surgery, at home, I began to experience occasional hot sensations in the ball and toes of my left foot, less often in the right foot. It comes on suddenly, and I can be in any position when it occurs. It always goes away within half a minute or less. It isn't painful or unpleasant, just very warm. I experience it probably about ten times in a 24-hour period. I told my doctor about the symptom, but she seemed unconcerned and acted as though she'd never heard of such a thing. But I am still a little worried, since I never felt this prior to the surgery. What might this be? Don't know if it's perinent or not, but I have had a painful bunion in the left foot for quite some time. It usually bothers me only when I wear shoes with narrow toes, but I haven't worn shoes much at all for the past week. Thanks!

AnswerI really doubt that the discomfort in the balls of your feet have any relationship with your surgery or anesthesia. It is more likely that it is due to the bunion. HOwever, if the bunion is on the left foot, I can't explain why you would have any pain in the right foot. I would suggest that you consult with a podiatrist.
