QuestionHai,
My LMP was sep 26th, i have a regular 30 days cycle. Yesterday ie on
the 27th i took a HPT & it came out positive. But one line was not as
dark as the other line. So i belive that i am pregnant.
But I have been having abdominal cramps & back ache on the left side
from the last 7-10 days.
My concern is...i had a miscarriage last year in oct. That time my
pregnancy started with cramps, spotting & low hcg count which ended into a
miscarriage a month later.
Do i have to see a doctor immediately. Does it mean i am going to a
have a miscarriage again.
Please help me ...i am really worried.
Kirti
AnswerDear Kirti,
I would suggest that you wait until you are approximately 5.5-6 weeks along before seeing your doctor. If your LMP was 9/26 and you have regular 30 day cycles, I calculate that you are approximately 4 weeks, 3 days along today. If you schedule yourself in to see your doctor around 11/9, you should be far enough along that the initial ultrasound could confirm a gestational sac, yolk sac, and embryo.
As far as whether the backache and abdominal cramps mean another miscarriage - not necessarily. It may be some early pregnancy discomfort, possibly caused by the hormone surges going on with the pregnancy. I would just wait out the next 10 days or so and, if you have no heavy cramping/bleeding, then go ahead with the appointment.
I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
