I have had soreness in my breasts and cramps but not started bleeding yet. I took a preganancy test 5/6 and it was negative. How long could it take to get my period? We would like to start to concieve in the next couple months.Thank you.
AnswerSometimes, when you stop the pills, it can take a few cycles to get back to regular cycles. Usually, after you stop the pills, you will ovulate in around 14 days and can conceive at that time. HOwever, often, you will not ovulate until you have had a regular period. See if you get your period in June. If you don't, take another pregnancy test. If it is negative, again, ask your gynecologist to induce your period using Provera 10mg twice a day for 5 days and you should get your period within 10 days. Then you can start trying to conceive. If you have a normal 28 day cycle, ovulation usually occurs around cycle day #14. YOu can only conceive if you have unprotected sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16, each month. If you do, indeed, conceive on one of those days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your period. Good luck to you.
