QuestionHi, i got my period and it lasted for 3 days, when they usually last for about 5. After 2 days i started spotting at night.very small amounts. Today i'm on my 3rd day of spotting.The weird thing is I start spotting around the same time everyday. I am trying to conceive but i got a negative HPT. Hormones. More than likely this is related to fluctuating hormone levels - whether that is due to an early pregnancy or simply an irregular cycle.
If the spotting is occurring at the same time each day, it may be that a certain activity is stimulating it. Try to think about what you do in the few hours prior to the spotting and see if there is a common denominator.
The HPT you took may have been done a bit too early. If you had a 3 day period and now a few days of spotting, you are barely past your period week. I usually recommend that women wait until after the full week of a missed or spotty period before testing. If you begin to have early symptoms of pregnancy or suspect that you may be pregnant (since you are actively TTC), you may want to wait 5-7 days and re-test. Make sure that you are using 1st morning urine to get a concentrated sample for the most accurate results.
