QuestionI am 21 years old i had a son on 10-13-04, delivered emergency c-section. last normal period was feb. 24th 2006, then on march 24th started and it was bright red, the next day suddenly stopped my period is normaly 5-7 days. on april 3rd i had a clot come out about the size of a nickle. april 5th negative test, april 23rd period due but nothing. april 27th negative test,
april 29th started to have abdominal pain. april 30th felt like muscles in stomach were being pulled so went to the er and they did a blood test and they couldn't do anything else to go see a ob/gyn. i have no insurance so this is going to be hard i was thinking maybe i have had an ectopic pregnancy or cervical cancer, please help me i am scared
AnswerYou apparently had a normal period on February 24 and March 24 (even though the bright red blood lasted only one day), If you have not had a period since March 24, and since the best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your period, and sinice you were due for your period on April 20, I would suggest taking a pregnancy test now. Even better would be a blood test for pregnancy (Beta HCG) twice, 48 hours apart. If both values are less than 5, you were never pregnant. If there is a doubling of the results in 48 hours, it indicates a viable pregnancy. It does not sound like an ectopic pregnancy.
