Missed Period & Negative Pregnancy Tests: What Does It Mean?

Dear Roni,
My period is now 8 days late.  I took a pregnancy test the first day of my missed period and it was negative - I took a second test at 7 days past and it was still negative.  Can I safety rule out being pregnant?  My husband and I have been trying so it wouldn't be a shock if I were but the only symptoms I have had are swollen breasts and a slightly swollen abdomen (which could be a sign of my period getting ready to start?)

I would be very tempted to say you are not pregnant.  Pregnacy test are very accurate but they are not 100%.
Sometimes women will miss a period without any cause, usually as long as it is only one and there are no other symptoms then you don't have much to worry about.
If you miss your cycle next month you should see a Dr.  Good luck!
