AnswerDear Tee,
It is odd that the regularity of your periods has been so affected after your D&C. The regularity of your menstrual cycle is primarily governed by the fluctuation of hormones. The D&C should not have affected the hormonal fluctuations which regulate your cycles. Sometimes a hormonal imbalance can cause symptoms which are the reason for a D&C being done in the first place, but not usually the other way around.
If you are trying to conceive, my suggestion would be to determine when you are ovulating. Since you are not able to rely on a regular cycle to figure that out, you may need to depend on alternate methods.
As your cycle progresses, your cervical mucus increases in volume and changes texture. The changes reflect your body's rising levels of estrogen. You are considered most fertile when the mucus becomes wetter, slippery, and stretchy. Mucus at this stage is usually compared to the consistency of raw egg whites.
You might also consider obtaining an Ovulation Predictor Kit. OPKs detect the surge in the luteinizing hormone (LH) in your urine just before ovulation. They're easier to use and often more accurate than the BBT (Basal Body Temperature) method, and they can predict ovulation 12-36 hours in advance and help you maximize your chance of conception the very first month you use them.
I hope this information has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
