Pregnancy Blood Pressure Concerns: High Readings & Low Baseline - Seeking Advice
QuestionMy wife is 30 years old and this is her first baby which is due April 8th 2006. My wife is usually very cold( temperature wise) but the last two days she has felt warmish and slightly clammy. We took her blood pressure at a store today. The first reading was 142/70 and then 150/78. Typically she has been considered to have low blood pressure. We got home and borrowed a portable machine from my mom. She has done the reading several times and is constantly around 90/60. What should we do?
AnswerAs long as your blood pressure is not higher than 150/90, there is nothing to worry about. BPs of 140-150/70-78 are perfectly normal during pregnancy. A pressure of 90/60 is a bit low, but it is still better than very high blood pressures. Don't worry.
