Answer
Dear Jami,

First - sorry about my delay in answering. I needed to help a friend yesterday and was away from my computer all day.

If all fertility testing that has been done had slightly lower values than normal, it could potentially be both. Your egg donation would not be compromising your fertility, however. We are born with about 1-2 million immature eggs, or follicles, in our ovaries. Out of the 1-2 million follicles, only about 400 will ever mature to be released by our ovaries (ovulation). The process of gathering synthetically matured eggs would not have altered your fertility. Now, if you had experienced a complication, such as bleeding, infection, or injury to your ovary during the process, that would have potentially affected your own fertility.

If you are actively trying to conceive and not having any luck on your own, ask your OB for assistance. If he/she has no more to give than the testing that has already been done, ask for a referral to a fertility specialist who can evaluate your tests and determine the most efficient way to get you pregnant!  :-)

I hope this information has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
