Ovulation After D&C: Timing & When to Try Again

Hi

I had a d&c on March 19th...I was 8 weeks and 5 days on the day of the d&c and our little angel made it to 6 weeks and 5 days.

I had my hcg levels tested on Monday and they were at 6.  My question is that I have been having  a lot of egg white cm on Tuesday and Wednesday and was wondering if I could be ovulating.  Also, are there any medical reasons not to try right now if I am healthy etc etc...is it just so a dr can date a pregnancy?

With the increased amount of egg white consistency CM, it is possible that you could be ovulating.

As far as conceiving again, different doctors will recommend different timelines, but in general the recommendation is to wait until you have had 2-3 regular menstrual cycles. This has nothing to do with dating the next pregnancy. It is about allowing your body to heal from the previous pregnancy and procedure and allowing your hormone levels to get back into a normal pattern. This, as far as the majority of the medical community is concerned, gives the next pregnancy the best chance for success. That's not to say that some women have not had back to back pregnancies and the next has been fine, but the ideal is to have hormone levels at an optimal level and your body completely healed.
