Heavy Bleeding After Miscarriage: When to See a Doctor

Question
I'm 20 years old, and i had a miscarriage at 17 weeks. my problem is that it was 4 weeks ago, and I have been bleeding continuously the entire time. Recently, in the last 3 days, the bleeding has gotten worse, to the point that I have to change my pad every 2-3 hours. Is this normal, or should I go see my doctor?

Answer
If you had a miscarriage four weeks ago and are still bleeding heavily, you definitely have to see a gynecologist. You may have some retained products of conception or some retained placental tissue. Did you have a D&C at the time of the miscarriage? If you are still bleeding, go to a gyn or an ER and have it checked out.
