AnswerDear Shannon,
Write me back with all of the information that you do have and I will calculate it out for you.
Relax, breathe... :-) If you have had an ultrasound and they have given you a gestational age, that's great. Give me the date the ultrasound was done and how far along they said you were at that point. When women have irregular cycles, an early ultrasound is the most accurate method of dating a pregnancy.
As far as the issue of conception, the actual sex can take place up to five days before the conception date. This is because sperm cells can survive once past the cervix for up to five days under ideal conditions. The conception date is the estimated date that you ovulated (released the egg to be fertilized). The egg will only survive for up to 24 hours once released, so we know that actual conception takes place within 24 hours of ovulation.
I hope this has helped you, but again, if you write me back with more specific information, I may be able to help you further. Be well!
Brenda
