QuestionI had a c-section with my first child in 2000 after being in labor and pushing for 3 hours due to his position. I then tried for a V-BAC in 2004 with my daughter and ended up having a C-Section only to find out that I had a ruptured uterus, had an infection and had significant bleeding into my pelvis. Thank God we both came out fine! I was told I could have another one. So now I am almost 32 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child preparing for another C-Section. I started weeks ago having pain to the left of my belly button, pain in my lower abdomen along with contractions. This only occurs when I stand or move around or walk...and it doesn't take much. I spoke with the Drs. and Nurse and was informed it might be the babies position or scar tissue, but not to worry. And they do not want to deliver me before 39 weeks. I have had two large babies #1 was 8lbs 6oz and #2 was 9lbs. 15.8oz.
1. I am concerned about this pain I feel. What could it be and is it significant enough that I should stop all activity until I deliver?
2. Should they deliver me sooner due to all the complications and size of my babies?
I would greatly appreciate any information! I ave not been able to get answers regarding this. They have not dealt with this before and I want to be informed so I know how to proceed to protect me and my baby! Thank you for your time it means a lot!

AnswerDear Stacy
As for the pain you have, the situation depends on since when ur having it. If you already have the pain since weeks with no progression, i would not be very much concerned. However if you experienced it just few days ago, it may be an alarming sign for a dehiscent scar and this should be taken seriously.
For your second question, I personally do a repeat Cesarean after previous 2 CS, at 37 weeks. Taking in consideration that you already had 2 previous and one of them ended up into a rupture uterus and that u delivered big babies (and the scientific fact that each baby is usually bigger than the preceded baby..i.e. the second is bigger than the first and 3rd is bigger than the 2nd...etc), i would consider delivering you before 37 weeks. Precautions should be taken to deliver in a well equipped hospital with excellent neonatal intensive care facilities should the newborn needs any assistance after delivery.
One important thing to consider is that an advise on paper is different than a live obs examination and discussion with your caring obstetrician. I would urge you to seek a second live opinion and examination.
Good Luck and wish you a safe delivery and a healthy baby.
