Mirena Insertion & Post-Op Abdominal Pain: What to Expect

my name is Hallie and last Monday January 26th I had an D&C done aswell as a laparoscopy and inserting an IUD mirena. I have had very heavy periods since I was 14 and this isn't the first time I have had a D&C my question is Is it normal for the abdominal pain to worsen in a week is it maybe my muscles were stretched or something when the D&C was done if you could assist me with this question the would be greatly appreciated thank you

I do apologize for the delay in answering your question. My son was "T-boned" in a wreck last week. I forgot all about coming back online for these questions... I'm sorry for that.

It would not be unusual to have post-operative abdominal discomfort throughout the week following the D&C. If the pain is increasing or becoming more intense or if you are beginning to have other symptoms such as fever or you notice a foul odor or unusual vaginal discharge, you should call your doctor right away. Otherwise, the discomfort should be starting to lessen/improve each day.
