QuestionThank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully give me a bit of insight as to what is going on. I am 31, have 1 child, and had him via c-section, in Feb of 2007. 6 weeks after giving birth, i had the Mirena IUD inserted.
Occasionally i have previously experienced something like a sharp cramping muscle strain, on the left side of my c-section scar, it feels more internal. The pain a frequency has increased over the past month, and i experience the pain when i stand up, move a certain way, or it will be at random. I have not had a regular menstrual cycle since just before i had the IUD inserted. The pain does not increase or decrease during intercourse. I also occasionally get what feels like muscle flutters in the same area.
I have previously had ultrasound scans to see if the IUD was still inserted, as i had lost the strings, and it was found that it was still there. I take regular pregnancy tests, also because i am not sure if the IUD has fallen out, but the last one a couple of months ago came back negative.
What could be the reasons for the pain? I hope i have given enough information, and thanks in advance for your assistance.

AnswerHaving read the info I think you have some problem with the scar but nothing dangerous or worrisome. Tell me something have you noticed some bulge or a swelling over the swelling especially when coughing or straining.
I am asking you this because an incisional hernia can cause similar pain. Secondly sometimes some sutures used to suture the scar can cause some pain later on. But what ever is causing the problem is not serious.
I think a little light physiotherapy should help you. Alternatively try applying ice over the painful areas. And also do some light stretches of the abdominal muscles.
