Exercise and C-Section Scar Recovery: Addressing Pain and Toning
QuestionI had a c-section about 15 years ago and over the last year and a half lost over 100 pounds. I am concerned about maintaining my new weight and toning my middle, so I go to the gym to work out 3-4 nights a week. Recently, I have been having pain near the sight of my c-section - to the point that I cannot do any type of sit up without pain. Even sitting up in bed causes discomfort. After a few days, the pain stops, but the first sit up causes pain again. Is there something that can be done to allow me to exercise without pain?

I don't think that your fifteen year old scar is causing your pain. Since your symptoms could be caused by any number of things, go to your OBGYN and get a full medical evaluation.
