SPD and Postpartum Lordosis: Recovery and Treatment Options

Question
Hi
I was diagnosed with Sympahsis Pubis Disfunction when only 6 weeks pg and spent the whole pregnancy in pain and the last 4 months on crutches. Things improved to some extend but I was given what I now feel was bad info.I was told that the SPD would not go until I stopped breast feeding which i did until my son was 2. I stopped 3 months ago and although I am still slightly producing milk my SPD has not gone. Also my lower back lordosis is very painful. I can only sleep on either hip.I can't lie on my stomache, back or even in the recovery position.
Can you please recommend some exercises to help long term SPD and lordosis?

Thanks

Answer
SPD this severe should be handled by a Physcial Therapist who specializes in pre/post natal problems.
For lordotic posture, you can do basic postpartum exercises that use lower spine flexion, and postpartum exercises that rebuild functional stability.
To find out more about this, go to: http://befitmom.com/abdominal_reconditioning.html.
Take a look at the 2nd and 3rd video demos on page: http://befitmom.com/abdominal_separation.html, you should be able to do these without pain.
