Birth Control & Antibiotics: Impact on Your Cycle - Expert Advice

Question
Hi
I am 20 years old and I have been on the pill for 5 years. I recently had to take the antibiotic Ceftin for a sinus infection and I was having unprotected sex at the time I was taking this antibiotic. I also went off the pill early by 2 days or so at the same time that I was still taking the antibiotics and having unprotected sex.
The last period I had (which was after i had unprotected sex and went on the meds) started Nov. 30th and was very very light and ended within about 2 days. About a week ago, I had a flu like bug ) very naseous, throwing up a just a few times,  bad headaches and lots of fatigue) and now Im wondering if i could possibly be pregnant. I have been feeling a bit naseous, bloated with cramps and i feel a bit edgy and irritable but my period isnt coming for another 2 weeks according to my pill schedule. If its possible I could be pregnant, when can i take a pregnancy test? could this just be because i went off the pill early by a day or 2 (which i have been doing for a few months so i can try to get my cycle to go with the moons cycle again?)
I am very nervous about the possibility of being pregnant.
thanks so much for your time

Answer
If your last period started on November 30 it may have been a normal period even though it was very light and was only 2 days in length. If you think you may be pregnant, take a pregnancy test. By now, it will be accurate and if the test is negative, you are not pregnant.
