QuestionHow long after a miscarriage do most women ovulate? I have heard many can get pregnant two weeks afterwards, my cycle has yet to return, starting to worry.
AnswerHello there
It is said that most women are very fertile after miscarriage. However, every woman is different as is every recovery time.
If you are looking to try again, it's better to wait for at least 1 natural period (or 3 if you have had a D&C) to allow your body to recover. It helps reduce recurrent miscarriage & also makes it easier to work out due dates should you fall pregnant soon after.
It can take on average 8/10wks from the day of the loss for your periods to return to normal, so try not to worry if your loss was recent.
However, if you find that your miscarriage bleeding doesn't stop and lasts for more than 2wks it may be that your body has retained some tissue. Not only will this prevent ovulation but there is a rosk of infection so do get this checked out.
I do hope this has helped and wish you every success in the future.
Kindest Regards
Sarah
