Understanding Post-Miscarriage Bleeding: Causes & When to Seek Help

Question
Hello,

I have been having moderate to heavy bleeding for two days now, and had already ended my period last week before the weekend.  The color is bright red, so far no clotting or tissue being passed.  No cramping or pain (yet).  Took pregnancy test and it came out "not pregnant."

Am concerned as to what could be causing this.  My periods have been very regular the past 3 months since getting off birth control.  Am trying to concieve.  Is it possible I am miscarrying, with a negative preg. test, and no pain?

Answer
Hi Patty
It is possible that you have already had a miscarriage & you're bleeding due to retained tissue. This would account for the negative pregnancy test. Miscarriages aren't always painful & very early losses can be just like a period.
On the other hand, you could just be having scanty hormones which are causing you to bleed.

Something certainly isn't right. I would see your doctor as soon as you can.

Hope this has helped.
Kindest Regards
Sarah
