QuestionI know I'm having a miscarriage, but bleeding really started this morning around 11 and has not let up. I would like to know how much bleeding is normal...(ie: how many pads in an hour) At what point do I contact a doctor? I feel like I know I'm having a miscariage so why go see a doc, what can they really do for me. But at the same time I am bleeding a lot and I'm worried about the amount of blood I'm loosing.
AnswerHi Rebecca
Every miscarriage is different. I was told that it would be like a heavy period, but (sorry for the 'TMI') it poured out of me. I ended up being taken to hospital as it turned out that the miscarriage was incomplete & some tissue remained, which caused the heavy bleeding.
If you're going through more than 1 pad an hour, you need to go to the hospital as soon as you can. The same goes if you feel faint or ill, as this means you're losing too much blood.
I hope this has helped. Do come back if you need any more help.
Kindest Regards
Sarah
