QuestionHi,
I have had 3 miscarriages in the past 7 months (all very early). This month I took 10 femara (2.5 mg) on day 3. I went in for an ultrasound on day 10 and found 3 good follies on my right side (my left tube is blocked). The follies were 20, 17, 16. I did my HCG trigger shot that night (day 10). We had intercourse day 10, 11, 12, and 14. Today- one week later - I have had very light spotting. My question is- could this be implantation spotting? Also, how long does it take for the HCG shot to be out of your system. I am usually a very "regular" person with a period every 30 days. I usually ovulate on my own around day 14-16. My Dr. wanted me to take the meds to "plump" up my eggs. Will the trigger shot so early affect my period?
Thanks so much,

AnswerHello,
The bleeding you had could be implantation bleeding. It is difficult to know for sure. That is a diagnosis of exclusion and retroactive.
The HCG shot lasts for about 7 days and will not affect the pregnancy test.
The trigger shot will not affect your period if you are not pregnant.
With a history of three miscarriages, I hope that you are also on Progesterone supplementation. That usually is started on day # 16 and continued until the pregnancy test. If it positive, then you continue it until 10-12 weeks gestational age. The other medication I would recommend is Aspirin 81 mg per day. It starts at the beginning of the cycle, but you can start it now.
