Understanding Low Blood Pressure After a Stroke: Symptoms & When to Seek Help
QuestionHi and thanks for you time. I have dieabites,high blood pressure,cholesral,a stroke 1 1/2yrs ago and some other problems. I take morphine,lortab and baclofen for pain. I have been walking around liteheaded for weeks now. I also lost a bunch of weight. Going through thryoid tests now. Today i started to actually track my blood pressure. It has been like 73/58,87/64 then it went to 110/83 after a block walk and flight of stairs. Now it is back to 91/71. What are reading i should seek emergency help? I go through the va so just a call to dr's are not quick.
Answerwell, you need to have a thorough workup and at least have your medications adjusted. It sounds like you have maintained for a while, but this is probably causing your lightheadedness.... it is best to go thru some doctor that knows you and not an emergency doctor who doesn't but if symptoms get worse, you will be forced to go thru the emergency room.
