Endometriosis and Blood Pressure: Understanding the Connection

Question
I was diagnosed aftera very long battle with endo.  It has been about 6 years now.  My obgyn diagnosed me after ahving a full hysterectomy ( by my choice) at age 23.I absolutely do not regret the surgery.  They did leave my right ovary, but I am unsure if it is functioning.  They did not place me on hormone therapies or anything else for that matter.  I am now 27 and for the past year or so I have been having what I like to call episodes!  I will be sound a sleep and wake up in cold sweats, my hair is soacked my bed is soaked, I cannot talk or move, my chest hurts and I feel like I need to vomit.  I had several of these episodes.  i had one where I woke up that way and then passed out.  Lately they have not been this severe, but I have found that I canot lay on my stomach due to the pressure in my chest, i just feel like i am being suffocated.  The doctors gave me a monitor to try and catch the episodes.  I wore it for a whole month but did not have one.  and I have not had a bad one since.  My normal blood pressure is usually 110 over 90.  I am only 5 feet tall and way around 125.  But at my last visit my bp was at 90 over 60.  My dr just shrugged and went on with her day.  I have suspected for a while that I have an erratic bp.  I get chest pain, very bad migranes, a fast heart beat and dizziness, feeling completely wiped out.  i guess my question is could it be the endo causing the drops in my bp?  After the surgery my obgyn said that they had not been able to remove all of the lesions and I know I have some on my bowel, which hurt all the time.  Could the slow bleeding from them cause a low bp ?  Or should the bleeding have stopped with my hysterectomy.?  Unfortunately the dr's don't really know much about it but they did at least tell me that surgery was not a cure all.  I just do not know what to do because drs are not putting two and two together and i feel like I am having to do their job for them.  I told them long before my surgery even that I had endo, just by doing my own reasearch.  How sad is that.  i have a feeling I am going to have to take the same approach with the blood pressure so I am just trying to get as much info as possible.  Thank so much

Answer
Dear Kimberly
I am sorry that you have to feel like you are always self diagnosing! Unfortunately, I have found many doctors that are less than interested in endo. Let them try it on for size for a month!!!
I would look for another Dr. The best endo doctors, which you probably already know, go by the titles of High Risk/Fertility Specialist. These are the guys you want to check you out.
I would definitely check out the bleeding you are having...that might be excessive at this point. But I have always said, endo never seems to go away and effects everyone differently.
Your night episodes sound somewhat like a combo of bad cramps and nights sweats, which are definitely associated with endo. But the low BP has me puzzled. No to be an alarmist...but I wouldn't doubt for one minute that it has something to do with endo and your body trying to adjust to the changes as you get older. Endo is a weird disease, it can invade any area of the body (I read a recent article), it can even enter your lungs.
My advice would be to get to a good gyno...one that believes in what you are feeling...
I feel for you and hope you find an answer. Take care of yourself.
