Jaw and Chest Pain: Understanding Potential Causes & When to Seek Help
QuestionI'm a 50 year old male who has had acid reflux for many years and recently I have been having a different pain that I'm not sure if it is another form of acid reflux. The pain starts in the jaw and then I get a very sharp pain across my whole chest at the same time. I have noticed that antacids don't work and liquid Maalox helps for a short time. Is this my acid reflux at its worst?
Answerdo not play with this... unless you have had specific tests for coronary disease, you need to have at least, a nuclear stress test or cat scan angiogram or heart cath. Do not wait... the two disorders (reflux and heart disease) are virtually indistinguishable by the symptoms, so if something is a little different, get it checked right away.
