QuestionI'm having these strange symptoms. I have weakness on the right side, co-ordination is off and my balance is affected. I have had my dilantin level checked and it's fine. I've requested a cat scan from my doctor which will take quite a few weeks. My mobility is really affected as is my typing. I have someone else typing this for me. Blood pressure is normal. Do you think that cat scan is the answer or should I be seeking some different test/treatment?

The dilantin level would have been one of them....
I would also want to know your risk factors for a stroke.... age, cigarettes, cholesterol, family history, diabetes.
This sounds like a mild stroke. In the US we would immediately cat scan and then if negative, probably follow up with an MRI. Given your constraints, if I were taking care of you, I would begin stroke treatment.... aspirin, and optimizing blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol.
