Post-Pill Period Changes: What to Expect After Stopping Hormonal Birth Control

Question
I was on the pill for 25 years with no adverse effects.  I was taken off the pill in
September due to elevated blood pressure and have not had a period since.  I
am not pregnant (relief!) but is this normal?  I am 47.  Good health otherwise.
All other info I can gather about this usually revolves around someone who was
on the pill for only a year or two.  When do I worry - or am I just old!??

Answer
Hi Betsy,

I found this article online to help you with your question.

There is a part of the article that says that sometimes a woman going off birth control can possibly not have a period for several months after going off the pill. So you could call your doctor if you want or you can wait and see if you develop any pregnancy symptoms.
