QuestionHi Cheryl Im very concerned about my health, I havent gotten a period since Nov. 3rd...I was on Levora before then gotten off of it to see if my cycles were regualar and it seemed to work really well when i was on it...got my period and everything..got of of it and it kinda messed things up. I went to doctor just recently and they said i wasnt pregnant and now im on yaz..I havent gotten my period, i got a ultrasound done and they found a cyst on an ovarie..i just dont know if thats whats keeping me from getting it..it seems like i havent had a period forever...what are ur suggestions..thanks so much

I am not a doctor so I suggest you keep in touch with your own physician. Perhaps it is something with your diet and eating habits.
I really don't recommend hormonal birth control because of health reasons. I would advise you to ask your physician more questions until you get the answers you need and want. Causes for not ovulating (which is why you might not have a period) are multifold: thyroid problems, pituitary problems, ovarian cysts, physical stressors (eg sudden increases in exercise, crash dieting), emotional stressors (problems with parents or boyfriends/girlfriends, exams), increased body weight, anorexia, rotating shifts at work, etc.
So YES, the cyst could be a reason. Please talk to your doctor about this. Can't wait to hear from you by email.
