Delayed Period After Mononessa Discontinuation: What to Do?
QuestionI have been taking Mononessa for about 1 and a half years. I quit taking it about 5 weeks ago and have only had protected sex twice! And they were at times where you normally wouldn't be ovulating. I am now ten days late on my period and just took a pregnancy test that said not pregnant. I have always had very regular periods even at times when I wasn't on birth control! What could be going on? When should I take another pregnancy test or call my OBGYN??
AnswerHi Lacy,
Thanks for your question. You can get pregnant even with "protected" sex. There is no such thing as 100% "protected" sex so, yes, you could be pregnant. You might have just taken the test too soon and it didn't show up. Or you could not be pregnant and just late on your period because of stress or worry. I would recommend going to a pregnancy resource center and get a free test there.
You can find a center by going to this website http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP.
Or you can try http://www.heartbeatinternational.org/worldwide_directory.asp
Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so we can talk more. And I would like an update. Hope to hear from you soon.
